How to Learn and Mentally Prepare to Succeed in the Internet World, by Ken Nourolahi

Have you ever wondered why some subjects are just difficult for us to learn?  Is it because they are too complex or does the subject lack meaning for us?  Research has shown that making meaning of information is a complex process that involves many areas of the brain (Jensen, 1998).  From a constructivist point of view, we build our understandings as a result of our experiences and interactions with the world around us, (Dewey, 1929).

We are able to make meaning of content when it has a particular “connection” with our background, either cognitively, emotionally, or spiritually.  However, the structured environments of most learning institutions do not provide opportunities for learners to explore and develop their talents based on their interests or their past experiences.

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 1989 called for a restructuring of the way students learn.  Researchers recognized that the United States was falling dangerously behind other countries in the education of its youth, particularly in math and science. According to Scott Grabinger and Joanna Dunlap at the University of Colorado at Denver, “We treat students passively for 12 to 16 years, rarely giving them the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning, to explore ideas of their own
choosing, to collaborate with one another or with teachers, or to make valuable contributions to the learning of others. They do not learn to take charge of their own learning nor do they learn the skills necessary to become life-long learners and daily problem solvers.”

In today’s global economy, workers are challenged to assimilate over a thousand times more information in a day than workers twenty years ago.  Just the sheer volume of information available on the internet makes it imperative that workers are able to create mental patterns that translate into meaningful and useful information that can be shared with others.  In this “information age”, we are challenged to use the “pattern-making” areas of our brain to associate and organize all of the new information that comes our way daily (Healy, 1994).

Since these pattern making tasks require different areas of our brain, involve the connections to past experiences and evoke emotional response to situations, it is important that we collaborate and share our learning experiences with others.  This allows us to incorporate these patterns into our own mental framework without having to sift through another thousand items of information.  That is why it so important to open our minds to the ideas of others, select an experienced mentor, learn from him/her, and not limit ourselves
to only one way of thinking.

Utilizing these principals, we are able to take our new associates by the hand and teach them the necessary tools and skills that are essential requirements for success in the Internet World.  The "4-Step System" teaching method includes mental preparedness, written, video, and audio media as well as multiple weekly webinars by the experts in their respective fields.  Through collaboration and interaction with others, we not only share our interests, but we gain insight into the cognitive patterns of others.

THE TRUTH ABOUT TWITTER, by Elisa Peimer

We hear so much about Twitter, you might worry that if you’re not part of the micro-blogging phenomenon, you’re just not plugged in to the great social networking revolution begun by sites like MySpace and Facebook. But how many of us are actually tweeting? The fact is, whatever the media and the sites themselves might like us to believe, if you’re not on Twitter, you’re not alone.

In the United States, the odds an adult has a Twitter account are 1 in 20. That 5% is split along gender lines— 45% of Twitter users are men and 55% are women. And, as with many emerging technologies, the younger you are, the more likely it is you’re on the bandwagon. A person 18 – 34 is twice as likely to have a Twitter account (the odds are 1 in 12.5) than a person 45 – 54 (odds just 1 in 25).

While men and women both populate Twitter in large numbers, who follows whom is pretty strongly skewed along gender lines. On other social networks, like Facebook, most of the activity is focused around women—men follow women (women they know and women they don’t), and women also follow women (typically, women they know). On Twitter, however, a man is almost twice as likely to follow another man as he is a woman, and a woman is 25% more likely to follow a man than to follow another woman. And men are 40% more likely to be followed by other men than by women. As irreverent online publication Valleywag so elegantly put it, “Self-absorbed loudmouth guys have overrun Twitter like no other place on the internet.”

So now that we know the odds of how likely you are to be on Twitter in the first place, what are the odds you’re actually doing anything there? Again, don’t believe the hype. In fact, according to the Harvard Business Review, the median number of tweets over a lifetime, per user, is… wait for it… one. So where are all the tweets coming from? Some 90% of tweets are generated by only 10% of users. On a typical online social network, such as Facebook, the top 10% of users create just 30% of the content—which makes Twitter more of a destination to hear from a few key users, rather than a participatory place like the online community at large.

And what are these chatterers saying, you may ask? Twitter’s 140-character limit, combined with the self-analytical nature of social networking, has made the lowly gerund king of the word world. When Twitter asks, “What are you doing?” the answer also usually ends with an “ing.” “Going,” “getting,” “watching,” and “eating” all appear on the list of the top 100 Twitter words. The top 500 include such exclamatory terms as “awesome,” “totally,” and the venerable “wow,” along with texting-age abbreviations like “u” (for “you”) and “RT” (for “retweet”). And if u r wondering who’s doing all this totally awesome “going” and “getting,” the second most popular word on Twitter (after the ubiquitous “the”) is “I.” In the flesh and blood world, “I” runs a distant 10th in popularity.

So, while those 5% of people are getting their Twitter on, the rest of the world probably isn’t missing out on too much. Since over half of those Twitter users tweet less than once every 74 days, odds are they’re busy “going,” “getting,” “watching,” and “eating”—without announcing it to the Twit-verse.

The Emotional Connection to Learning, by Ken Nourolahi

How often do our emotions play a role in our effectiveness at work or our ability to start a new business venture such as an Internet Based Business? Most often, the fear emotion plays a negative role in our ability to achieve. Have you ever thought about why you want to learn or why a particular subject is important to you? When do you feel most comfortable learning or even have the desire to learn something? Consider that your emotions play a very important part in the learning process.

According to neuroscientists, the emotional centers of the brain are intertwined with the neurocortical centers of the brain involved in cognitive learning (Zin, et. al., 2004). The ability to learn is closely linked with our emotional well being. This makes sense if you consider how difficult it is to focus on work when you are emotionally stressed. In times of stress, the body’s feedback mechanism reacts by releasing hormones such as serotonin. That’s why many people who are depressed take Prozac or other drugs to help regulate serotonin levels. Many other chemicals such as acetylcholine, noradrenaline, dopamine, and norepinephrine along with protein “messengers” are known to have dramatic influences on our emotions and also affect our ability to learn. When we have an emotional response, these chemicals linger in our system and influence our thinking and our behavior (Susman, National Institute of Health, 1987).

Research by neuroscientist Joseph LeDoux of New York University (1994) indicates that emotions drive our attention and have their own memory pathways. This research has lead to a branch of educational research called Social Emotional Learning (SEL) that involves finding out what type of environment is most conducive to student learning. Interestingly, research findings by Holmes, Ponder, and Bell (1999) include a spiritual connection of learning they call “the inner edge”. This refers to the beliefs held by teachers that give them a sense of purpose and meaning in their work. This sense of empowerment is what drives them to teach and to establish a community of trust with their students.

These same ideas may also be applied to people in the work place. LeDoux (1992) notes that the “fear centers” in the brain’s Amygdala sends signals to the cortex in times of stress or uncertainty. This is a natural defense mechanism, but many times we let unwarranted fears drive our decision making. The Amygdala is also the creative center of our brain and we need to let the creativity and imagination drive our decision making and not our fear. The “intuition” that is often discounted as too much emotion, may be the “voice” that we need to listen to.

When we are at our creative best, we are also the most productive. We must use our emotions in positive ways to generate our goals and plans for the future. Starting your own internet based business is rewarding and can be very successful. But you must do your due diligence first and most importantly, you have to surround yourself by those who can help you achieve your goals.

In the “4-Step System” that is a cornerstone of our training and mentoring program, we emphasize the importance of your thoughts and ideas as your secret formula for success. You’ll learn how your thoughts become the lifeblood of achievements; inspire you to move out of mediocrity, and how you control your future through positive thinking. Bring excitement to whatever you do, celebrate the good work that you do, and challenge yourself to try new things.

How to Reverse Diabetes in 4 Weeks or Less, by Ken Nourolahi

I have good news for you today!

If you are suffering from diabetes, are acquainted with a person who has diabetes, or if you are suspecting that you (or a loved family member) are under the threat of developing diabetes, I finally have the natural answer you’ve been searching for…..

At last you can join the ever larger group of ex-diabetes victims who put this innovative home remedy to the test…. to reverse diabetes using proven natural doctrine.

- Imagine your blood sugar fears gone ... in ONLY 4 short weeks from today!

- Imagine your doctor telling you to pull-back on your insulin dosage . . . steadily eliminating the need for it completely!

- Imagine avoiding the pain, suffering and needless expenses by naturally addressing the root cause of your diabetes now.

- Imagine the peace of mind you'll have knowing you can help stop diabetes Type 1 by helping reverse Type 2 diabetes.

Hidden inside the pages of "The Diabetes Reversal Report" you will find out the secret to what scientists are calling the new science of biology. You will find this new science in easy to understand language even a 6th grader can understand.

The remedy report reveals an outstanding principle that's so easy to use. It's as simple as turning a key to unlock a treasure once lost, just waiting for you to take claim. The treasure is the self-knowledge to help your body heal itself.

The information you will receive with "The Diabetic Reversal Report" gives you the furtive component to empower the healing center within each of your 60 trillion cells.

FACT: Most diabetics’ death is caused by heart attacks not diabetes. Insulin slowly eats away major arterial linings. Added to insulin are high blood sugar levels which harm your smaller blood vessels and nerve endings. That's why diabetes causes millions of people to endure the loss of quality of life. Thanks to discoveries in the new science of natural medicine, diabetes may soon be a thing of the past.

The Diabetes Reversal Report works amazingly well if:

- You are insulin resistant or have diabetes Type 2.

- If you have recently (within 7 years) been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and are under age 50.

- If you do not smoke excessively, take multiple drugs or drink more alcohol than average.

- If you don't have heightened pancreatitis, kidney or other major organ failure.

- If you are willing to make some dietary adjustments.

Does your doctor recommend natural remedies for diabetes?

Fact is your doctor doesn't know about this therapy because most of them simply don't have time to keep up on natural solutions. In fact only about 20% of universities even teach classes on nutrition, they simply can't tell you what they do not know.

But even if they did know . . . from a business viewpoint it's just not in their best interest to tell you. Prescription drugs and performing surgery is the lifeblood of their vocation. They only earn money if you accept conventional medical treatments. They depend on your returning as a patron over and over . . .

On the other hand, "my business" prospers ONLY if you experience a successful healing. The word of mouth from your triumph is what keeps me in the business of sharing these safe, proven, natural remedy breakthroughs.

Just words won't convey how happy I am that I can offer you "The Diabetes Reversal Report" . . . this is my personal passion and highest purpose.

Alaska Cruises Offer Breathtaking Views Of Natural Wonders While Enjoying Modern Conveniences by Jenny Crisler

Alaska cruises provide the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful wonders of nature while having all the comforts of modern conveniences at your fingertips. If you are like thousands of people, you truly appreciate the marvels of nature, but you may not be the outdoors type. Instead of camping and hiking you may prefer to be in a luxurious setting that allows you an intimate view of awe-inspiring scenery. The good news is that the Celebrity Cruise Line has thought about just that issue and they offer what is undoubtedly the best mix of nature and comfort available.

The Alaska Cruises can provide up close and personal encounters with massive whales, spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and ice-blue glaciers. The untouched wildlife and natural wonders are breathtakingly beautiful. Seeing polar bears, grizzlies, sea lions, bald eagles, and perhaps even a moose is typical for cruise passengers.

But even with all the priceless sightseeing afforded to Celebrity Cruise line passengers, many of them want more to do. Not to worry, the cruise ships make stops in various ports along the way that allow opportunities for shopping and for dining on exquisite cuisine of local areas. Whether you prefer fresh salmon, crab legs, or even a moose steak, you can find it all in the ports of Alaska.

When it comes to shopping pleasures some say there's not a better place in the world than Juneau. This capital city of Alaska has no direct connections to land as it is positioned in the midst of a rainforest. The cruise ships usually arrive in Juneau via the stunning Inside Passage. The Inside Passage of Alaska extends 500 miles from north to south and 100 miles from east to west. It includes 1,000 islands, 15,000 miles of shoreline and thousands of coves and bays. It is quite impressive. The downtown district of Juneau offers delightful shopping pleasures, including such wonderful and unique items as Russian dolls, jade sculptures, specialty coffees, and one of a kind jewelry pieces.

The surprising thing about these excursions is that they are actually extremely cheap cruises. Even with all the features available for enjoyment onboard the ship, and the priceless views, these cruises are very affordable. Alaska cruises are popular choices for honeymooners, families, and senior citizens. It seems that everyone enjoys the Alaskan Winter Wonderland! If you have been looking for cheap cruises that include every possible advantage and feature - look no further!

Jenny Crisler and her family enjoyed their Celebrity Cruise Line vacation so much that Ms. Crisler started a blog about her trip. She included posts about their daily activities and lots of photos of the wonderful scenery. Ms. Crisler contends that although the cost is very affordable, in comparison to other cheap cruises she has taken, this one is top of the line in every aspect.

Enjoy!
